The Kookaburra, the Kingfisher of the Australian animal world has been part of the Atlanta teams uniform since 2011. Up on the left chest you see the AFC emblem (Atlanta Football Club) that the Kookaburras wore on their guernsey or jersey from 2002 till 2010.

The former VFL/AFL club the Fitzroy Lions is where this AFC emblem was most drawn from. The emblem style was how Australian Aussie Rules Football teams often displayed their initials on the front of their guernseys. Some in fact still do, holding onto those traditional ways.

The standard guernsey will have the # 98, representing 1998 the year when the Kookaburras were first organized.
