The DC Eagles were officially formed in 2018 however their history goes back to being one of the founding clubs in the USAFL in 1998, known then as the Baltimore-Washington Eagles. After some early success winning the Div 2 Championship at the 1999 USAFL Nationals, the club took a few more years to find its feet, returning to the winners list again in Div 2 at the 2006 Nationals In Las Vegas NV.

After traversing some hills and valleys like many clubs do on and off the field, in late 2017 the club members believed two clubs were better than one and the Baltimore Dockers were formed separately from the now DC Eagles.
