The New South Whales are a brand new team and part of the Rome Redbacks NW Georgia development project and the NGAFL. The Whales are based halfway between Atlanta and Rome GA in the Acworth area, along the I75 corridor that heads north west out of Atlanta towards Chattanooga TN.

The Whales insignia features two Narwhals and that representation comes from a very funny story which resulted in one Rome Redbacks player in 2023 receiving "The break thru In Science" award for 2023.
